Let's Get (the) Reel

The chandelier I built for my sister's wedding is on a reel, so I can raise it up out of the way when it isn't being used. The reel is in the loft of the barn, which I've always regretted not having put it down on the main floor so it would be more visible. This project is moving it down to the bottom of the stairs and finishing the wall with pallet wood.

Such a cool item to have in the shop. Being able to raise and lower as needed is a nice option to have. You should consider adding a ratcheting star wheel safety catch that would not only add a bit of safety but also a very unique click as it's raised and lowered. You also have done a great job on the video editing. It's always a good day when we see a new post has been made.

Thanks for taking the time to do videos again. I'm with you on pallet wood, but have done a few cladding jobs like this and it always comes out quite nice. I do cheat, however, and get them from a company that builds pallets.

I’ve always liked the name of your channel. My dad is a farmer and I remember being a kid and loving when it rained as it meant he would be around the house more. It’s probably why I still love the rain to this day
