As a Sri Lankan, I feel very sad at present. Politicians have destroyed the country's economic unity and citizens' attitudes. As a country, there was only a victory from sports to be happy and proud. But now it has also been influenced by money and politics and the Sri Lankan team is in a very weak position as a cricket team. Even if the players show very poor batting and bowling, putting them in the national team is unfair as well as losing the opportunity of other players. I still remember how Mahela and Sanga set a world record by building a partnership of 624 runs against the South African team in 2006. Therefore, when we see how the other players who are used to the pattern of T20 matches are scoring in the Test field, it is very sad that our players are not among the talents like that.
