Lomu's try where he just steam-rollered through the English defence with Mike Catt being made to look like a rag doll has to be at the top. One of the most memorable tries in Rugby history. What a fantastic player he was.

Englishman here but nothing, nothing beats that last gasp Japanese try against the springboks (Robinsons try against the Aussie’s is a close second). Unbelievable!!!

Who can begrudge the Japanese People the raw emotion when they scored those tries. Amazing from a Bok supporter. They surely teach us a valuable life lesson.

Christophe Dominici and Jonah Lumo thank you both for being alive on earth at the same time as I was, both sadly gone far too soon but firmly sat in the Pantheon of Rugby gods. A Rugby loving Englishman.

I’m South African and the Japan try to win the game takes it for me

Jonah Lomu steamrolling Mike Catt is probably the most iconic international rugby moment for me. I remember watching the game on VHS with my dad when I was a wee'un and just being mesmerised.

That final Japanese was possibly the greatest moment in RWC history for anyone who wasn't South African! What a moment!

Kolbe, Williams, Robinson, Dominici, Habana - pure magic. You don't have to be 100kg+ to play this game well. The little guys are often the best. As for that British commentator's line: "Owen Farrell, one of the best defenders in the world" - cracks me up every time.

Zee Ngwenya finishing off an amazing team try for USA by burning Habana vs RSA should be in here for me. My favorite RWC try after maybe the miracle in Brighton.

I met someone once who played Sevens for the USA against NZL. He described defending against Lomu as 'a special kind of fear'

What makes an try excellenct is the corresponding excellence of the opposition, the individual skills displayed, the importance of the match and the impact on the final score

Tuilagi's pick and drive was unforgettable because of the context of the game, opposition etc, but as a try in itself was unremarkable.

Lomu's try was far more significant in that for me it symbolised the end of amateurism and the beginning of the professional era. And it was a far better try, unless you're Mike Catt.

The Tim Horan's try with a Magic pass from David Campese for Australia vs New Zealand at The RWC 91' 1/2 final deserved to appear in the top of the most unforgettable tries.
The Joe Rokocoko's one with an insane pass from Carlos Spencer for New Zealand vs South Africa at the RWC 2003 1/4 final too.

Rest Easy, Mr J. Lomu.
We still miss you, and always will 🏉

Of this bunch, for me it's the pompous Aussie one in the middle, when Quade Cooper just gifts the try to a team mate, because he's done enough. Ballet. One handed graceful offloads, one handed graceful catches.

As a South African is that Japanese try against us as ingrained in my mind as the Cheslin Kolbe try against England, just not in a good way. It is many years later and it still hurts. Kudos to them though.
