My son's standing outside a sporting goods store the other day with his friends. They're holding their disc golf Frisbees. I'm told I'm not supposed to call them Frisbees. This guy comes up to them. He's like, "Oh, you guys play disc golf?" They're like, "Yeah." And he says, "Here." So, they throw him one and he starts playing catch with them which, if I understand correctly, is not what you're supposed to do with disc golf discs.

And they're like, "Do you play disc golf?" And he's like, "Yeah." And they look at each other because he was throwing real weird. When my son told me the story, he demonstrated. It was weird. They have it in their minds at this point, "This guy doesn't play disc golf. What the hell is he talking to us for?"

He was a Marine recruiter. The fuck, dude? I have a sort of limited guarded support ... I was going to say for the military, but for the concept of military. But fuck man, back away. This is not an anti-military video. It's an anti creepy fuckers coming up to children in a parking lot and trying to seem cool so that you can convince them to donate their lives to an organization that is apparently failing so badly that this even needs to be a tactic.

1000 percent agree!!! I get that diplomacy doesn't always work, and that sometimes you aren't given an option by the other country. It usually does and failure of diplomacy really only works as a justification when you're defending (and not stretching the definition of defence into absurdity). Generally speaking, if you can't get people to volunteer for your cause, you need to re examine your cause. Looking at you post 9/11 America and Putins Russia. Like, I kind of understand the earlier phases of the Afghan war, trying to get the guys that killed 3, 000 people in your own country, but basically everything afterwards was wholly unjustified and Iraq shouldn't even need to be explained. Russia's Ukraine invasion as well.

I don't support the military. I support the people who are being abused by the military and who won't have support after they're wrung out and unable to serve anymore. I support kids who didn't see any other path to a better life because the system we have keeps people poor and without specifically so they can be recruited for cheap.

That's a tactic they've admitted when talking about free college. If college were free, the military has said "how will we recruit?"

They need bodies. I saw something a while back that said for every new recruit they lose 2-3 active duty.

Lol. Since not all military recruiters are alike should we be telling our sons and grandsons too they have to get a short hair cut so they can blend in better with the rest of the wheat? Thanks for warning me. Now I know what they are all about too when they are all standing in a row near the light rapid transit station downtown while on my way to school. While being the same age as them. Perhaps they believe they will have better luck nearest to a community college instead?
