Hitchhiking in Sarajevo is quite common and considered a safe way to travel. Locals are generally helpful and welcoming to tourists. Additionally, there are instances where public transportation can be accessed without a ticket due to lack of checks, though this is risky and not recommended. Overall, transportation in the city is affordable and convenient.
