SMNI is diverting the issue that its franchise or right of expression is being curtailed by the House of Representatives due to pressure from the Speaker for the alleged inaccurate statement made by SMNI on the travel expenses of the Speaker. This is not so. According to the KBP itself, SMNI may have committed a violation when it allowed unaccredited announcers to go on air. Atty. Rudolph Jularbal of the KBP said that anchors and reporters of KBP member networks are given lectures on the code of ethics and are required to take an exam to pass the accreditation. SMNI are oblivious about this. SMNI cannot ignore this requirement by feeling entitled to whatever it likes to do in broadcasting. SMNI’s honorary head alleging he is the anointed son of God does NOT authorize the station to be above the law. Besides the true and genuine God teaches us humility, obedience not arrogance.
