Topic: Shading In Unreal Engine 5.2+

In this video we look at a brief introduction to the Strata Shading System for Unreal 5.2+, this is a experimental feature at the moment that will allow for more realistic material creation and layering. This was originally introduced in Unreal 5.1 but has been updated in Unreal 5.2. This video covers the basics and key things to understand to start using this new feature and a bit about material and shading theory.

This video looks at different ways and approaches to create metals like Gold, complex fabrics like Gold, and generic Glass.

How do you control the Fresnel falloff in substrate ( how to get the Fresnel to go farther inward from the rim?)

hi i have a problem, the moment i open the new material, i have a Substrate UE4 Default shading even tho i am in UE5

This was an amazing video tutorial. I have to admit tho, that when you showed that last material with 3278 instructions, that's just way too many! I do see that the Parameter Blending reduces that down to 798, but I you lose the glassy appearance and well defined reflections off the surface. I haven't had a chance to see if this improves in 5.4, but plan on making this very soon and will try to comment back.

Great Video, How do i make dark tinted windows though? When i change the color to a random color, it works but when i change it to black, it loses the transparency

Great tutorials. I cannot figure however how to make foliage material, like thin translucent so I can see shadows on backside, or something like curtain material using substrate.

29:03, middle-top part of the screen - what is the name of the software you're using to, I assume, help with snapping windows in custom layouts? I use MaxTo so I'm curious to compare them.
