As a couponer, it absolutely kills me to see the amount of money that people spend at Costco for things that they could get so much cheaper or even free if they took a little bit of time out of their schedule. I think it’s absurd that you pay to shop at a store!and that store doesn’t even take the time or effort to have a decent website or the option to curbside shop and we are paying for this store! Can’t do it

we tried Costco but are not going to renew for the same reason - it is 2 hours away not worth the time and drive.

I'm happy that you finally got to the right person to help you! I wish there were more people happy to help others in all the stores. I have met some awesome employees in my hauls, but unfortunately, I seem to run into more of the snarky ones.

I've worked retail in the past and my guess is they're getting a kickback for each membership they get. It's usually not a lot of $$ to the employee but it makes a difference on future salary increases. Not sure if that was the case here but it would make sense as to why he was pushing you to get a membership

I’m not explaining myself anymore to anyone about my choices and decisions- not just about money but across the board. I think since maybe? 2000 forward as social media and life have marched forward people actually think they can ask you anything regardless of if its personal or whatever and that we owe them an answer… not happening… I’m not rude… I just am blunt and use very few words with a smile and a meeting of eye to eye…. My friend used to say “ keep it classy”😂but take no 💩. I would have done same you did

Some people use “ no “ as a power play to make THEMSELVES feel important. And, sadly, most people will walk away after that first “ no” .
I hope you just went outside and bought gas.

I agree with you. The employees think all this is out of their pockets. I was denied pennies at Dollar General for the first time in 5 years. The manager said” We are not selling those penny items to you. “ The AM said they were third party and they couldn’t sell them. I had just purchased the same items a two stores earlier in the day. I called corporate and gave them their names in front of them. I said give me the DM phone number. They called the DM and then I was told I could have ONE ITEM. Then I was told the DM WAS NOT TAKING CALLS.These were the Collegiate shirts. I wanted all but I didn’t get them….. 🥴🫤I buy the things that I want at Costco on line and just pay the extra 5 percent charge. I don’t buy food at those big warehouses. The closest ones are about an hour away.

I'm sorry you had a messy experience. I have always had the best experience when it comes to Costco. If you go their CS they will give you a temp one day membership: then all u need is buy a bag of say candy or cookie of anything else for even a couple of dollars and if you present the cheque they will give you the balance in cash!

I Bel nged to BJs, didn't renew and low and behold I get a renew offer for $20. I tried to activate it, nope texted them, they said you'll hear back in 24hrs, nope, called again and was told to bad your email doesn't have a promo code. Two weeks later email to renew @ $25, same thing no promo, called, to bad but we will give you the 25 offer less the 4 months since your act lapsed. I said no ty, truly awful CS.
