Getting Crushed in a 3.0 Tennis Rec Play (Full Match of butt kicking)

An observation… during play a balled rolled across the court behind one of the players. This happened to me when I was 17, I drifted back to play a lob and stepped on an errant ball, breaking my ankle. I recovered fully, but would continue to ‘sprang’ that ankle seemingly all the time for the next few decades! I’m now 54 and have injury induced arthritis. I’ll most likely never be able to run again and will eventually need ankle replacement surgery. Best of luck and watch out for those array balls.

I would say this is more of a low 3.5 vs a strong 3.5 match by today's standards in some parts of the USA. Some may even call the guy with the white cap a low 4.0

It’s more like a 3.0 vs 3.5/4.0 match. Your opponent has more completed skill set than you. But when you play against one-handed, I suggest you first try his backhand with topspin, or even moonball if you couldn’t hit topspin we’ll on your backhand. Keep working!

I don't think he's a 3.0 or at least not for much longer. Solid all-around. The biggest difference is movement- he is much less casual and reacts quickly, split steps and moves. Copy that part of his game and you'll do much better!

Thanks for the video. Love the consistency you both had. Yes attack his backhand bit maybe hit wide to his forehand first so you can more easily get to the backhand.

At 11:50 I hope it was realized that white hat lost the point by touching the net before the ball bounced twice after hitting it.

quick serve advice: Your serve mechanics are great, but you could generate much more power than you are right now by being more explosive on your jump. As of now, it kinda looks like you're falling forward rather than jumping forward.

quick forehand advice: Like your serve, your forehand mechanics are also very solid! However there's two things I would point out:
1. It looks like you generate most of your power from your arm strength. You could be generating more power with a better shoulder/torso rotation.
2. Right before you hit the ball, your left arm flops. You should be using it to assist the shoulder rotation by catching your racket at the end of the swing

Looks like a 3.5 ground stroke shotmaker with wheels vs 3.0 pusher. The match is on whites hats racquet period. Recommendations for blue, develop one weapon and work on the net game.

Great match! I enjoyed watching. Keep posting, playing, and learning. I think it's funny how often people have to comment on the "level" of play. Specific feedback is awesome. Only commenting on the "level" of play proves nothing!

I used to think i am less than 3.0. Hence always told myself a beginner. Looking at this i can play like the white cap guy so a strong 3.0. Beware world i am coming to win those recreational trophies
