Police have been investigating the murder of George Murdoch, who was attacked with a cheese wire in his taxi, for more than 40 years. But on Thursday they made a breakthrough in the case.

Authorities said that with advancement in forensic technology, they've identified 200 possible genetic matches to a DNA profile recovered from the scene of the crime, and are closer to finding the suspect.

Mr Murdoch's nephew, Alec McKay says the family were "thrilled" with the DNA breakthrough, and that he has "never ever given up hope".

Sky's Scotland Correspondent Connor Gillies has more on the story.

Nasty weapon.
It had a huge period of popularity in Victorian england and there were lots of garrottings.
Its a niche sneak attack weapon.
