The way Calypso is so insistent and has a slight annoyance in her facial. Features is incredible after Odyssey says he has a wife because it reminds her of madeas experience with Jason and the Argonauts and that she’s looking for someone to truly love her.

I love how desperate and worried Athena is in this. After she basically wrote Odysseus off for having feelings and caring for people it’s so rewarding and heartbreaking to see her arc come full circle to her having a nervous breakdown because of how much she cares about Odysseus.

AH YES THE FULL ANIMATIC. Also Poor Ody you can see he having a god damn panic attack because he is basically trapped with someone he doesn't love yet can't refuse because she has power while he doesn't. While Calypso just legit so confuse DESPITE the fact this man clearly doesn't want to be there man even flash backing to Penelope and like about to throw himself off the edge if Calypso wasn't holding onto him then.

Then Ody calling to the ONLY God/Goddess who had once been his friend. Screaming as if in vain hope that maybe just maybe she will forgive him and help him again which makes Athena want to help him even more.

This is so great, the designs are already amazing but Ody’s breakdown scene was done so much justice. How Calypso was holding him and crying, how Ody envisioned Penelope comforted him, and the spinning shot with Polites, Eury and his Mom was just peak. Not to mention Athena tearing up too

The little interaction at 2:25 when she lets it slip that you can't ever leave the island and Ody realizes just how trapped he is. The little breakdown he gets when he realizes that after everything he went through and everyone he lost, he's now trapped and can't see Penelope, and the abject look of defeat as he lays there and doesn't even stop Calypso from coming in close.

I like how you showed Odysseus leaning into her for support. After 7 years, his heart still belonged to Penelope, but he didn't spend 7 years brushing her off. It's weird, complicated, and a little rape-y, but she was also the only person to talk to...so, to see him lean on her for support as he is haunted by the past was amazing.

Your Calypso is hypnotically beautiful. Her hairstyles (she actually changes her hair with time!! I love that!), her anklets, her twirling...wow. The contrast between the warm colors, her sweet expressions, and how handsy and possessive she is is perfectly sickening.
Also, 3:34 where he just melts into her--not because he loves Calypso, but because he's so tired and he just gives up...GAH.

The line ‘last I checked goddesses can’t die’ is somewhat concerning coming from a goddess exiled to an island where she is being punished by getting sent heroes to fall in love with who inevitably leave her. Like, has she checked?
Edit: I’ve been told her getting sent hero’s to fall in love with is just in percy jackson. However she is in many versions of the myth still imprisoned on her island, which sucks for her.

I like how odys hair being so long and messy at the end shows that hes not been taking care of himself and calypso clearly hasnt been loking after him either. All calypso wants is for ody to love her but i dont think she really cares for him. Amazing animatic, I love it!

YES I've seen calypso being imagined in so many ways but this is exactly how I see her!
She's not angry at him, she doesn't show any power she's just calm, walking behind him, knowing she will EVENTUALLY make him love her because she has all the time in the world
