Hand Held Rocket-Thrusters (Day 347 - Jens)

Excited at the prospect of doing something unlike anything I have ever done before I lift my feet, one at a time, and start walking towards the mouth of the tunnel. I have heard it said that one can shine a torch down the tunnel and even with the bright xenon ones that can shine half a kilometre or more, the light just fades out at the end. Feet deep in murky water, concrete pipe surrounding me, I start walking, the strange echo of my steps and the waves they make quickly becomes the only sound I can hear; stronger even than my own breathing. Darkness engulfs me as I walk towards my meeting with the stranger who told me to come down here. Why? Why not!
