Sweet riff! Wish I’d been able to slow all those old albums down when I was learning to play from them.

Thank you Uncle Larry for teaching us this impressive lick. As I was learning it I had several questions in my mind. 1st how would you use this in a song? 2nd what chords would fit? 3rd when you're playing something fast how important that all the notes be in the chord? When Al was just a young lad of 40 he played in the Hunter College Jazz Band. His instructor, Arthur Harris, was teaching him how to pay a walking bass line and said the notes that were not on the beat didn't matter. They are "passing tones". Thoughts?

That little lonesome lick reminded me that someday soon I'll be rich enough to hire you and Sir Doyle Dykes to travel to West Virginia and play for my 99th birthday. I'll keep in touch .

Oddly it reminds me of the riff at the end of the chorus in Judas Priest's "The Ripper".
