It makes me think about how symbolic it is that Spinel doesn’t have a cracked or broken gem. It’s the trauma within that’s breaking her down and changed her.

It's really sad that Steven didn't really care about Spinel. Even tho he knew that she went through something traumatizing he pushed her to remember it and throughout the whole movie he kinda ignored her.

Edit 01/2023: I wrote this a year ago so I just wanna add some thoughts. They both remember different things about eachother, Spinel thinking of Steven as Pink and Steven just trying to save his planet, yet again. He didn't have any attachment to her and he was just stressed, that's why he acted that way. Then there's the other side of the coin, Spinel. Her attachment issues are acting up seeing her new "best friend" treat her like this. They grew to understand eachother more but some things were just left unspoken, at least as far as we know.

Its 2:AM and I just thought of this. It's so sad that spinel was only made for pure entertainment. She was neglected and left in the garden. And when she cracked then got rebooted she still got treated like crap. Because everyone was mad at her because she would make a joke out of everything. But that was what she was made for just for people to laugh and smile. And the fact that even when she was herself and did what she was told she still got badly treated hurt because it means that no matter is she does what shes made for or not no one will love her. And that hurt me so much how she wasn't accepted. Thank god that at least the diamonds accepted her and may restore the love that she wasn't given before

Spinel is honestly one of the most heartbreaking characters I've ever known, her loyalty was just indestructible.
If I ever had someone like that, I'd make sure that'd give them the same loyalty.

Am I the only one who thinks that Spinel NEVER lost her memories? She got attached to Steven, even If she got a factory reset. She gave hints on how to fix the other gems and she was the only one that remembered everything from the factory reset, while the others were really confused and didn't remember anything. Every time that Steven was "leaving" her, she snapped, but she didn't get her memories back, and when she remembered about the garden, she didn't turn back instantly, but only when she finished telling everything to Steven.
