US Tests Its New Sixth-generation Jet Fighter With Air Superiority.
The American sixth generation fighter evokes a number of associations that depend on the profession of the observer.

For example, constructors and designers see the perfection of forms in it.
Military pilots pay attention to flight performance.
The potential adversary is looking for flaws.
And only extraordinary and advanced people look at the new fighter created under the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program as the brainchild of the fourth industrial revolution.

Nicely detailed (although short) report on the aviation part of the channel. What's with the whistling? Enough, already...

Could we maybe provide a single verifiable fact, instead of fuzzy language and SF movie clips?

The F22 Raptor is a beautiful aircraft, I want it to remain operational for many more decades, and never need to be replaced from the 6th generation fighter jet.

AI just have to understand that every country in this earth is fighting another country. That's when it'll deploy it's weapons against humans. It'll be exactly what humans want. Think about it.

What if we had a plane that could project several phantom planes so the enemy would not know who was the real one.

I have one major critique with an assumption here on AI. I see no way autonomous AI control is morale or even up to snuff for of military equipment. The problem with saying AI is superior to human control is suspect as far as I am concerned. Sure, a computer can utilize a zettabyte of data, but can a computer utilize those millions of options in any given situation without human input? This is not a game of chess we are talking about here. The problem is generating those millions of different options and then utilizing them with proficiency. If you think AI is actually intelligent, then I'd say try and have an actual conversation with Siri, and then ask yourself if you honestly believe there is a mind behind it. Unless you use pre-chosen questions, (a common tactic to make AI seem to have critical thought) it is plainly obvious you are getting nothing more than canned responses. Flight control is one thing, a plane that can take off, fly a certain path, then land for instance. But mission options are another thing entirely. Self-driving cars is a good example. There is no way an autonomous vehicle could even come close to competing in say a NASCAR race. Precision drone maneuvers is another good example. We've seen swarms of lighted drones doing mind boggling displays at events, yet all of this is still meticulously preprogrammed. I have to point out the human equation is still required here. AI is still only as smart as the programmers behind it. In other words, no matter how many options are programmed, there is no way all possibilities can be accounted for beforehand. Critical thought is required, and way beyond current AI. No matter how complex such devices may seem, the chosen responses are still limited by what the programmer accounted for beforehand. Real life situations are just too dynamic for this to not have glaring limitations. Often designed to fool you into thinking AI is more than just canned responses. AI can aid a pilot with navigating, and flight control, organizing and supplying in a coherent manner all the information thrown at him/her, so they do not suffer overload, however If we were to allow AI to autonomously control military hardware, we run the risk of tremendous collateral damage, and friendly fire situations.

Sorry for the WALL O TEXT, but it was a complex comment.

The US just blacklisted 12 companies in China working on a brain interface. This guy needs to go back to the drawing board.

*A flight duration of up to 50 hours...* Seriously?
Personally, I would like to know the speed they can do that at, but I suppose it's classified, as it should be :(

Did you know when the British started testing the Harrier Jump-jets they assigned helicopter pilots to fly them, thinking that chopper pilots could manage the VTOL? That was a disaster.
Lives were lost, and the British realized that these new aircraft need fighter pilots. Then it started to work just fine 🙂

I can't wait to see what these look like. They're still hidden under that shelter off the runway at Groom Lake.

AI does not exist yet, everything you see is an expert system. Big difference.
