Heard this song as a young girl. Cried my eyes out. To hear it now 45 years later and I still cry. A poet. A song brings you to a moment in time, it allows you to feel, it calls you. If you cannot feel it, than it is not for you, you are not ready for it.

I always felt that this song touched on things that at the time were not spoken of except in whispers so the children didn't hear, yet I love this song. Back from the days without auto tune, lyrics that meant something and a singers who pronounced words correctly so you could actually hear what they were saying. I love the way he carries the last word of a line into the first word of the next line. eg: "In an effort to, make it clear to 'who. Ever' what it's like when you're shattered". clear to 'whoever'.

this song has sad meaning. It was out at the time my cousin committed suicide. Made me say an extra prayer for him. Never miss a chance to say I love you to those around you.

I always loved this song when it came out when I was a kid. Some of its meaning of the song got deeper years later for me as I do remember I cried when my father died My Mom was 65 years old and her heart really was so badly broken from the only man she ever had been taken. Alone Again Naturally will forever remain one of my top 100 songs of all time, maybe top 25.
