On a RAV4 with a manual hatch door (not powered), I wonder if there’s a way to setup or tie a cord to that lever, drill a small hole on that plastic cover and run the cord out of the hole. This way from inside, you could easily pull the small cord to open the hatch door easily…???

There is no lever under my car’s center hatch. The plastic cover is the same. No lever there anywhere.
