NT 5.0 was the beta for 2000. Neptune was its own thing but later merged with Odyssey to make Whistler.

0:11 not 2000, it was going to be the next home version after 98, but with the NT Kernel. It merged with Odyssey to make whistler wich became XP. Neptune is like WIndows 2000

8:27 Windows 2000 and Neptune don't use that desktop background as the default one. It is actually blue. The reason why it is the desktop background from Windows 95 and 98 is because that this VM is running at a low colour depth.

You can get 32-bit color for it in VirtualBox if you install the guest additions.

Virtualbox guest additions works on Neptune and Windows 2000.

When I tried to install the OS, at 6:17 it skipped this step, restarted and started the installation over again.

Neptune does not work in the middle of the installation, it automatically restarts and I installed it twice

Ok. Neptune was 1 of 2 projects. The other being Windows Odyssey. and it was NOT a beta to Windows 2000. Neptune and Odyssey merged which made Whistler.
