Good luck with the engine swap. I had to do this on my bmw 335i e93. But all perfect once swapped over. Your e36 tourer / estate should sell easily. But sadly there’s many time wasters out there. U.K. has its fair share of them to. 🇬🇧

Not too clued up on petrol cars but for diesels that sort of blow by is not bad at all, it’s only bad when your cap actually gets flung away from the blow by? I need to do some research.

I am considering buying a high mileage F20 or F30 and swapping an engine for it. Is this smart to do or not advisable? Seems like a fun thing to do (my step dad will help me) and saves some $$$. Anything I need to take in consideration?

Even though the engine is blown it will still start? Ive heard engines driving around like this. How do you know? Like u said it could be something small like a misfire/ injectors. Whats the one sign you know it's definitely blown?

I was hoping you were going to swap it out for an M5 V10 or at least a V8😆. And I might be wrong but I believe the n26 has a second catalyst converter in the muffler but I could be wrong.
