Nice! And pasting in bits of differently colored skin tone was a smart idea! Thanks for making this. Cheers.

Yes, this will be a time consuming exercise, but I have tried AI as well and you just don't get the same results. So if you want this quality, this is the road to follow. Thank you for sharing.

I want to scan some 8mm footage from my grandparents' wedding in 1945, increase the frame rate to 60 FPS using DAIN, and colorize using this method. Thanks for this. Wish me luck and godspeed.

Excellent work. I am in the process of restoring vintage Kilauea videos without sound. Adding color to black and white is very difficult.

That was great, thank you! But could you do a slowed down version of how to actually do the rotoscoping? JD

Photoshop just introduced Neural filters that does this in a fraction of a second. I was hoping they had it in After Effects. But if not, you could just open parts of the film in Photoshop, create an action where it colorises each frame and it should be done super quick.

Excellent work, probably could have saved time by using the rotobrush instead that would have sped the process of the painful rotoscoping.

For Goodness sake, man. After Effects comes with a version of Mocha. Don't be such a masochist.

could't you just run the movie as separate RGB passes ? Then tune each color pass by using a reference object like say the guys tie suppose to be a color blue, then you would tone and HSL the blue to match color of tie. Then move on the red and find something red in the frame and set sample and same for green. When all is said and done you then overlay all 3 color passes and the b/w one together and you have zero rotoscoping and realtime color generation? Profit? Or no? Please advise!

could you make a more detailed tutorial? some parts are too fast and I didn't seem to understand

I think it would be much easier if you use Mocha Pro for rotoscoping then export it to After Effect
