Pope Francis meets with First Lady Olena Zelenska | EWTN News Nightly

At the Vatican in Rome, Pope Francis met with Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky's wife, First Lady Olena Zelenska. She attended the General Audience and sat in the front row, while the Pope marked 1,000 days since the war began. Later that day, a special 'Mass for Peace' was help in Rome where Cardinal Matteo Zuppi called for "end to the madness and a commitment to lasting peace."

Russia's invasion of Ukraine was seen as an abomination of the land where so much the most precious human blood would be poured through bombs and bullets and starvation and sorrows. The President of Russia, Putin was warned against such a horrible abomination but he has committed it.
