Whether the Federal Reserve raises interest rates is a question its former Chairman, Ben Bernanke, is glad he no longer has to answer. But there are other questions he is happy to discuss. Norah O'Donnell of "CBS This Morning" sits down with Bernanke to talk about the financial crisis, income inequality, and life after the Fed.

I wish I could talk to Bernanke about post Keynesian economics. I feel like I would learn so much.

Without a doubt Bernanke stopped a depression and held us only to a recession. Yet, I don't believe that was the best choice. Yes, there would of been A LOT of pain but after the terrible policies put into place for the last decade or so we needed to go through a down and have a fresh start. Now we are just stuck kicking the can down the road until we can't prolong the problem anymore. Bernanke seems like a genuinely nice guy tho. Wish him and his family the best and won't hold a grudge.

comments here are demented: people love being fleeced and be told that it is necessary. Good hearted weak-minded breed-oh well, what is the use of a good man if not for a bad man.

When he says that the recent recession was worse than the Depression, I think what he's saying is that although the recent cost in human suffering was lighter, the cost in decreased productivity was higher. Am I correct in this? Otherwise, that statement seems indefensible to me, although opposing perspectives are welcome.
