Mr. Jefferson made two recordings, for free, of two scenes from "Rip Van Winkle," his iconic role, in 1903. He made them in his suite at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in NYC on a cylinder machine of the Columbia Phonograph Company. I was very lucky to find a beautiful copy of a later disc pressing which I used for the video.

I have this and also the 2 single faced Columbias. He was born in 1829! Died in 1903.
