I hear ya on the easy storage idea. The Fuji and Gala apples store well, too. You should try another bean that you eat the dried seed part of. It's called a Scarlet runner bean and mulched well in the winter, it's a perennial. Needs to climb but you have plenty of space for that. Super easy germination. Even a teepee trellis in the front yard too as they have a pretty red flower. This year I'm venturing into planting a grain. I'm trying wheat first but it takes a lot of space so have planted giant amaranth in the spaces where the wheat didn't germinate. I believe amaranth is also considered an annual but is supposed to easily reseed itself. Don't know if I'll like the taste of amaranth bread yet, though. 🤷‍♀️ It's all a journey. You're a sweet young man and I'm going to sub.
Oh, in case you didn't know, if you uproot a tomato plant and hang it upside down inside when the frost is going to come, the fruit will continue to ripen.

Aphids sometimes come from ants putting the aphids on a tree so they can cause the sap to flow and the ants harvest the sap. Happened to my apricots and raspberries. For the raspberries I sprinkled crushed hot pepper flakes under the plants. (Ants don’t like crushed hot pepper flakes) hope this helps anyone with problem. You can pick up the hot pepper flakes from dollar tree

For your aphids you can release ladybugs, but only use ladybugs when you have a infestation because they will leave if theres no food source, the ladybug is a Hunter .
