Ezran's situation here is quite similar to Janai's. Ezran's only castle was destroyed, and Janai lost an entire city. The most trusted confidants were plotting against Janai. Ezran is lucky that his loved ones are not like that and love him very much. Janai stopped trusting everyone at the moment and even snapped at Amaya, saying, "What do you understand? You are not a queen!" But she is older and therefore realized faster that she was wrong. So Ezran gets carried away because he has a childhood emotional breakdown. He began to lose the essence of what was really important. He started snapping at everyone and didn't even listen to his brother. He ignored Rayla, who seemed to be repeatedly begging to talk. And he spoke to her coldly and sarcastically. The outcome of this whole situation is logical.

Oh my God, was Aanya really going to kill either Callum, Rayla, and Runaan? And was Ezran really going to allow it? Its not like he just choose Rayla over Ezran choose to continue the cycle of violence and Callum could not justify staying after Ezran attacked Rayla (who is basically like a sister to Ez). If Callum had stayed at the point, he would have a lot of resentment towards Ezran and would have felt horrible leaving Rayla alone
