Katy Perry Says Orlando Bloom 'Saved Her Life' After a Difficult Year
In a heartfelt and emotional interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Katy Perry opened up about her mental health struggles and how her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, played a pivotal role in saving her life. The 39-year-old pop star shared that after a particularly tough year, Orlando's support and encouragement helped her through one of the darkest periods of her life.
Katy candidly spoke about the couple's rocky beginnings, admitting that their relationship didn’t take off smoothly. "We weren’t really in it from day one," she revealed. After spending some time apart, the two eventually reconciled. Orlando introduced Katy to the Hoffman Process, an intensive therapy retreat that he had tried, and with his encouragement, she decided to give it a try herself.
"I had a really tough year, and at the end of that year when we were separated, I finally went to Hoffman," Katy recalled. "It changed my life. It saved my life. I would not be here without it." She continued, "The more work we do, the more we discover about ourselves and reach new levels."
The pair eventually rekindled their romance in 2018, becoming engaged in February 2019. In August 2020, they welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, solidifying their bond even further.
During the podcast, Katy also spoke lightheartedly about her relationship dynamics with Orlando, sharing that she rewards him with intimate gestures when he completes household chores. "If I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean, and you've done all the dishes, you better be ready for your reward," she joked.
When asked about her preferences in men, Katy made it clear she’s no longer interested in toxic relationships. "I'm no longer attracted to narcissists," she said, listing emotional red flags such as manipulative behavior and a lack of support as things she won’t tolerate anymore.
