In the Orthodox Church we’ve always depicted Jesus & John with locs. John traditionally is given much more wilder locs because he lived in the wilderness. jesus grew up nazarine and nazirines loc’d their hair historically which is why we depict him with locs. Look up ‘orthodox icon of jesus’ and you will see him with locs. Most have his locs behind him but a lot show him with the locs in front always with four large locs.

Good morning. It is correct for all to dress in a modest way, to pray for everything, like clothes, food, unnatural hair, or any hair like locks, company we work for, shoes, etc. so that we shouldn't be connected to the spiritual entities producing them. But the fact of the matter is that God doesn't look at your physical appearance or your dreadlocks but our heart. Worshipping God is not physical but spiritual. Christianity is about Christ in you, the hope of Glory. Without the Spirit of Christ you are not His(Roman 8:9) So whatever we do, wear, eat or hairstyle should be in a way that it doesn't connect us to evil spirit. It should be noted that one can be the best in appearance, dress in a modest way but not Christian at heart. Most of the things we use today are manufactured from the pit of hell like technology, sanitary, music instruments, famous brands, jewelry etc. all this can connect one evil spirits hence a must to pray for them before use. Ask God to reveal to you how we should do everything. Jesus said to the Samaritan woman:
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”Worshiping must originate from within, from the heart; it must be sincere, motivated by our love for God and gratitude for all he is and has done. Not motivated by appearance, places, hairstyles, eloquent speeches etc. One can be poor, sick, have dreadlocks, weaves, wear earrings, jeans, but yet being more closer to God. What is important is that we must be presentable or modest but fist, the most important is your heart to be presentable to God, and must be free because that is where the Spirit of God dwells and enable us to connect with our Father and worship Spiritually and truthfully. Holiness is starts in the heart; and then the fruits of the Holy Spirit will follow. That is why it is important to obey or follow what Jesus has commanded us to do not following man's ideas. Remember God is Spirit, His Word is Spirit, You are a Spirit living in the body, so your worship should be done through your Spirit not body or appearance. Your also need the Spirit of God to understand His Word, God’s Spirit is the only one who can reveal to you the truth about everything.
