Which ISO 35mm Film Should I Buy? Beginners Guide To ISO / ASA

Показать описание
When you're new to 35mm film photography, the choice of which ISO / ASA film to choose can be a confusing one, just remember that the lower ISO (50-200) are best outside on sunny days, and the higher ISO (400 up) are better on overcast days or indoors.
Thanks, Rob.

I like video's like this. I got my first camera when I was 13 almost 40 years ago, and still shoot film. Never got into digital. Glad to see people trying film.

Just found and watched your video on ISO film speeds, very handy, I took a few notes as a memory jogger . Thanks .

400 is also great for learning film processing because the grain is easier to inspect under the loupe when you are selecting negatives to print. Great shooting tips!

It all depends on where and when your going to be taking pictures, as in outdoors or indoors . 100 and 200 speed film is great for outdoors, 400 is a good all-around speed for indoors and outdoors . Fuji film sometimes gives you what aperature to use iside the film box

You're awesome, I'm just getting started and this is exactly the sort of thing I needed, thank you! (Overcast Michigan, thinking I'll join you at ISO 400)

bought a nikro ft2 with a 50mm 1.4 lense..last time I took a 35 mm pic throw away camera was something new...everyone is digital now and I've kinda decided to actually start learning the 35 mm and focus triangle this week ...always loved pictures. ..now at 42 years young I've decided to pic up a new hobby and try my hand at keeping the art of 35mm going ..wish me luck !

Actually I can hold the camera steady at 1/15 of a second with a 50mm lens or 1/8 of a second with a 35mm lens. But it does depend on the individual. Different people can hold the camera steady at different speeds. There is a trick to holding the camera steady that many people don't know. The trick is to push the button slowly. It is like bullseye target shooting. I don't know if you have ever done any target shooting.

I have pushed 400 ISO B/W film to 3200 ISO just by setting the ISO on the camera or light meter and taking the photos but when you push the film you have to tell the lab what ISO on the 35mm film canister or gently on the medium format film paper on the 120 medium format film paper the covers the film you write on it with a felt pen.

Great video!!!! I have purchased a Minolta SRT 100 which the faster shutter speed is 1/500 and my intention is tho shoot outside with day light. Would be enough the film 200? Or is better 400? I need a film that cover most of the situations
