Meshmixer Cut an object out of another | ⚡ Quickie ⚡

This short and sharp demo shows you how to cut one 3D model out of another in Meshmixer.

It was part of a series I was commissioned to make for The Edge at the State Library Queensland, and makes up a small part of a full course demonstrating the process of 3D printing from beginning to end.

I hope you see this comment. I tried it just as you instructed. When I hit accept it told me in a window "An unknown fatal error has occurred in the current tool. Aborting" Why? And how do I fix it?

hi ‏Why did I cut and slice my model into pieces with Meshmixer and then put the pieces together vertically in Cura, there were approximately 24 pieces that I was able to prepare for printing in 3 times in Cura, i.e. in 3 stl files, my problem is that I printed the first layer It is printed like a net, which means that it is not like my other prints that the first layer is correct, clean and smooth, what is the problem? I have adjusted my models from left to right and horizontal to vertical to fit more in Cura

I've spent way too much time trying to use a solid modeling program to do this, and wish I'd used meshmixer in the first place. Cool video, very helpful.

Every time i try and boolean, it destroys my mesh. Random parts get little chips eroded away, particularly at corners.
I've spent an entire week just trying to boolean out magnet size holes

Heya! How would you go about making the "holes" bigger, to compensate for any added width during printing, so that the feet will actually sit comfortably in the holes made?
