This is one of the perfect episodes to show to the people that says House had lack of empathy for his patients...look at that change of expression 7:01 he said it all without saying a word, you can see all the emotion in his eyes 7:13.

House understands what it is to do something unforgivable. He understands self-loathing. That's why he empathizes with her; she, in a way, is him.

A show that ended over a decade ago, still has over 500 fans who gather here within seconds of a new clip being uploaded.

The way he looked at her when she told him the truth, like he related to her sense of guilt, I find it fascinating the amount of things eyes can communicate 🧡 oh and must say, they are NOT making shows like this anymore.

The actress in this scene is just as phenomenal as house. I believed 100% both of their stories and they’re just actors. felt like I was sitting there not just watching a show.

"If you don't take thir marrow, you'll kill there other child. They'll hate you more."
This whole conversation hits hard.

Everything House does proves he cares about people. He’s a jerk to people as an attempt at hiding that he does care.
He doesn’t like people. But he still cares deeply for them.

Honestly, i think hugh laurie has to be one of the best actors ever. Moments when he has a one on one with patients and he's being serious, it doesnt feel dramatic at all. There's just a weight to it i dont really feel from many other actors. It probably shows how good the directors are, which i think he is as well right? XD

House is apathetic and logically cold, that does not mean he's without empathy. You can see it when she finally tells the truth... he says nothing at all, yet you can see all the heartbreak for her in his eyes.

Can we just appreciate the fact that Hugh Laurie is the most perfect cast for the house character?
I think no else could pull off this character this perfectly

One of these days I’m actually going to sit down and watch this show instead of just the clips.

I love how he doesnt just call the parents in the end (i mean as he said they could just find her parents over certain ways), but he wants her to make the choice making the first step to forgive herself.

It shouldn't be the child who is blamed. Ultimately, the parents are responsible. Too often older children are roped in to childcare responsibilities for younger siblings they didn't get a say in having. Older kids are not your built-in babysitters.

This happened for real in my family. I was the third of three children born quite late-one full decade after my sister who was dead. I never understood why our family dynamics were nothing but stress. It wasn't until 30 yrs later when I was married and having my first child that the whole situation became clear. It wasn't a relative and it wasn't a stranger that told me the full story. It was an ancient newspaper that was on display at my local hospital. There tucked in the headlines was a story about my sister's death and how my oldest sister had been involved in her passing.

One of the many scenes that proves House is human and cares about people. If he truly was what people think, the reactions from 7:01 onward would not be as they are. I love tjis show, the acting, script, all perfect

Kutner: The MRI shows that You're lying!
Patient: *lies again
Kutner: Okay, I believe You.

The most important thing here is that he got the truth, he didn't needed to save her or convince her to call her parents. He wasn't shocked by the story he was shocked by the fact that the story was so bad he wasn't able to feel good finding out the truth. House is a metaphor for science (or at least he was before the show became about his wit sense of humor).

Hugh Laurie was able to make us feel the weight in this scene and most of it was via his eyes. I just let out a heavy sigh to blow the 'weight' of the scene out. Masterful acting. Seriously. I don't say that lightly.

For those wondering they did end up contacting her parents and they were able to save her life. Her parents never hated her nor did they ever blame her for the death of their son
