I’m all for criticizing Vance, but please don’t valorize Tim Walz! Walz is being talked about like some kind of climate hero, but he refused to stop the construction of the Line 3 oil pipeline which violates native treaty rights and poisons water that all people in MN rely on. He deployed police and national guard on protesters during 2020 and was congratulated by Trump for that! Not to mention he is the head of the Minnesota State Board of investments that currently has over $4 billion of public employee pensions invested in weapons manufacturers, Israeli banks and bonds, and other companies complicit in the occupation and ongoing genocide of Palestine.

Walz is a an encouraging pick. And coverage I heard of the DN is encouraging, too. But a rebuke of Reid Hoffman's demands regarding FTC would give me a lot more confidence. As well as a highly public cautious stance of silicon valley military contractors. But those are probably dreams

Shillbilly Vance was a venture capital guy in San Francisco 2013-17. I was born in Oakland, pops got stationed in Bavaria, came back to Ess Eff in '67. Vance is the kind of carpetbagging a-hole that's turned the bay area into an unafordable crapheap since the mid '70's.

Gonna be honest, Kamala is not a particularly exciting choice for me and i was unenthusiastically planning on voting for her more as a means to vote against Trump. Walz has made me actually excited to vote and feeling like i actually have a good reason to support Harris, not just a vote against Trump but for Harris.
