People really think they hates each other. I think they secretly had feelings for each other. Especially during that dinner I think Joan was going to tell Vera she did until Vera snapped at her about the hep-c. If they hated each other why save Joan so many times or way save Vera twice in the end? She could of just escaped and left her there. I think also since the actresses adore each other it shines through their performances.
