This just summarizes why dating and long-term relationships are hard and likely to fail. We start out playing this game of, “I need you to read into me, figure out my intentions, spontaneously impress me, get to know me on limited terms, but don’t try too hard because that’s creepy”.. and somehow if you do make it through this initial phase, your relationship inevitably fails because of lack of communication. One sign that a woman is into you is she tells you, like an emotionally mature adult would do. Any woman who relies on those other signs is still an adolescent in mindset and not worth getting involved with because she’ll be bringing all her other adolescent baggage with her into the relationship. In Brazil if a woman likes you she looks right at you, is touchy & compliments you. It is obvious & direct, friendly, warm, comforting & natural. Kissing within a very short time span is very normal as well.

As a straight guy, I actively try to not look at women due to simple fear. Women hold a lot of power to ruin a guy's life, and society will tend to favor the words of a woman over a man in these types of situations. So even if I somehow saw AND understood these "signs" (which is highly unlikely), I am definitely not going to act. And honestly, the older I get, the more I'm seeing that having a romantic partner gives me very little. And the little things that you do get are not even guaranteed and usually comes with a lot of terms and conditions. Having meaningful friendships and good hobbies is enough for the most part. The only thing you can't get are s3x and children. And even then, you can always adopt if you really want to be a parent.

In essence, who knows what somebody else is thinking!

Be okay with being wrong or being rejected sometimes. Be so comfortable with yourself, your values, your looks, your hobbies, your dreams and your desires. All the things that make you the beautiful fallible human you are.

And when that inevitable moment comes, and you misjudged the look she gave you, and you went and introduced yourself, and she rejected you. It will be nothing. It will be nothing personal, it'll be just another awkward moment in time you can laugh about.
