My son’s favourite book for a long time was “My Shadow is Purple. Books about inclusivity tell kids (even those who will identify as cisgender later in life) that it’s okay to be different. Crazy how people still spread hate when they are afraid of differences. My kids are better than a lot of adults at accepting people for who they are because of books like yours that address complex issues surrounding differences. We need to praise authors that are able to craft stories that take such complex issues and present them in a way kids can relate. And teach them to spread love not hate.

It is hard to understand why people who think themselves good are so threatened by beautiful, kind, and affirming stories. They are perfect for children! I am a huge fan and after seeing this, I went to your reviews to report the negative ones that were hateful or inappropriate in any way. Thankfully, I found that there were so few negative reviews, it hasn’t changed your overall rating at all. It is still a 5.0. I also had to search for quite a while to even find them. If I didn’t know they were there, I definitely wouldn’t have stumbled across them. The positive comments completely overshadow those few negative ones. Too many people LOVE you and your stories.

You and your message of kindness and love are exactly what these people need, and it’s sad that they seem insistent on remaining hateful and scared. I’m so sorry Paul, it’s just heartbreaking. My heart goes out to you, and the poor children that are being indoctrinated with hate and bigotry by the parents who wrote these reviews.
