I tried all the steps mentioned and followed other tutorials as well but none of them worked for me. I reverted all the changes made as per this video and removed reg file and uninstalled the game from steam. I restarted my system and installed the game from the scratch and this time it worked. I guess first time installation i.e., preloading before game release had some issues and wasn't done properly. It's better to reinstall the game if you are not able to resolve the issue like me but keep in mind that you have to again spend internet data around 35GB to download.
