Today we're painting a Warhammer Blood Angels

Hello! Here is the written tutorial for the paint scheme. Let me know what you think; it should be fairly easy to replicate.

Step 1 Basecoat a white primed miniature in mephiston Red.
Step 2 Paint chest Aquilla and chosen armour panels black.
Step 3 use a pen (uni pen fine line) or brush to paint the interior of the shoulder pads.
Step 4 Paint leather with wildwood contrast paint thinned.
Step 5 Paint all metallics with some Thrash Metal by Scale 75.
Step 6 paint purity seal with Vallejo pale sand and write with a uni pen fine line.
Step 7 Add sketch-like highlights where light would hit with Vallejo Vermillon.
Step 8 add a chosen enamel wash Streaking grime is great and remove it with spirits I use Sansodor by Windsor and Newton.

Very nice. As an older painter I'm not used to new methods and thus am impressed by the result

Id recommend using some stormshield varnish on the decals before moving to the enamel step, not only helps keep them from ripping/ getting scratched off over time but helps bring them back to a matt like the rest of the model instead of being shiny

Nice. I don't think I have ever used decals for the chapter markings for Blood Angels. I have always used a fine point pen and done the markings by hand.

Do you have a brand of pen you like for this? It looked very useful.

It looks cool but I don’t get the hype around grimdark, I love seeing the colours I don’t want them covered in sludge

Im making Lamenters as my first time for painting, any tips/paints I should use? because so far the yellow hasn't been sticking, the primer is peeling off, and my airbrush has clogged about 3 times painting them.

Not a fan of the cover it in crap and brush it back off but I guess some like it. Doesnt really make that much of a pop for the effort. Just contrast and shade to achieve the same thing. But maybe theres reason to it idk.

Is there a place you recommend getting the pauldron decals from?

It's really annoying when people drown the mini in mud, and then call that ''the grimdark style'' xddd

Blood Red.... I shall never use their stupid new names V_V though blood red used to be a bit darker basically, everyone is trying to get that same shade nowadays through several different steps, when all you needed originally was a black undercoat and blood red XD
