JoSAA Counselling Step By Step Procedure || How to Get IIT Admission || Infinity Learn JEE

JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) is the governing body that conducts counselling for admission into various engineering colleges in India. The counselling process is carried out in six steps, which are as follows:

Step 1: Registration - Candidates need to register themselves on the JoSAA website using their JEE Main or JEE Advanced roll number and password.

Step 2: Choice Filling - Candidates need to choose their preferred colleges and courses in the order of their preference. It is advisable to choose more than one option to increase the chances of getting admission.

Step 3: Locking of Choices - Once the choices have been filled, candidates need to lock their choices. After locking, candidates cannot make any changes to their choices.

Step 4: Seat Allocation - Based on the merit list and the preferences filled by the candidates, seats are allocated to the candidates.

Step 5: Reporting to the Allotted Institute - Candidates who are allocated seats need to report to the allotted institutes within the given time frame and complete the admission formalities.

Step 6: Withdrawal of Seats - Candidates who want to withdraw from the counselling process can do so by submitting an application to JoSAA. The withdrawn seat will be allotted to the next eligible candidate.

In terms of the best choice filling order, candidates should prioritize the colleges and courses that they are most interested in and are likely to get admission into. It is also advisable to choose backup options in case the preferred choices are not available. It is important to note that the choice filling order can be changed until the choices are locked, so candidates should take their time and make an informed decision.
