I like how the new Skylanders game and the cartoon makes reference to different versions of older characters: the mushroom kingdom refers to lava barf Eruptor (well, has him lava barfing), and the cartoon has supercharged Pop Fizz fighting Wolfgang.

I liked how the series 2 figures were often fiercer looking - more spikes, both arms raised, more deadly-looking weapons, perhaps showing something from one of the upgrade paths.
