This is a trick. The two magnets wouldn't keep the stick spinning, the ends of the stick would be attracted to the magenta and not repelled so the stick would just line up with the magnets and stop.

What is going on here is that a battery is being used to either spin the motor and light up the LED (most likely) or switch the polarity of the magnets to repel the magnets (possible but less likely in this setup).
