Wojtek, an orphaned bear cub, was adopted by Polish soldiers during World War II, becoming an unlikely but beloved member of their unit. For those who don't understand, Wojtek was a bear that was adopted by the 22nd army of Poland 🇵🇱.
After, they gived him some food and even try to make him smoke 😅.
Wojtek also participated in the battle of Monte Cassino, when this battle was a success to the poles.
After ww2, he was in a zoo (i think) in Scotland because they dont wanted that Wojtek would be captured by the commies. He died in the zoo in 1963.

Wojtek is one of the best stories from ww2 if not the best

If I rememeber correctly, he carried artillery shells (by his own volition) and once caught a spy because of his sense of smell.

He was not a pet, he was one of the bois.

My eyes kept flooding with tear when I heard the story. Wojtek was liked those soldiers who adopted him. At that time, they did not have home (their country) and the orphan bear 🐻 was just happened in their life. 😢 The most beautiful was that the bear and their company survived through the war and they became more than a symbol of brotherhood.

Another pet soldier is chir Ami if I'm right so cher Ami is a bird that helped deliver message so one day she was shot thankfully it wasn't her wing but then the soldiers were running low on food and ammunition and water so they made cher Ami go when she got there she died😢 honored a hero for the soldiers

He fought for them he was like a friend a soldier with them but in the end they still put him in a zoo instead of letting him live his life in the wild, I mean I understand it’s I retesting but he is a good soldier he deserved to live the rest of his life outside and free
