Still getting the MBA 15". Thinner. Better battery. Silent. Bigger. Very powerful compared to most windows laptops at same costs. Can be much cheaper depending on the configurations chosen. Given that we are far from all being video editors, for 90% of people, this 15" MBA will be more than enough and for a very long time.

Now that the 14 M1 Pro are cheaper, what I am really more curious is the comparison of the 15 air vs the 14 M1 Pro.

I was so excited about the 15" MBA that I placed my order a week ago this week I bought the 14" M2 MBP when I realized it was discounted to $1749 yes the 15" MBA is a cooler laptop but 14" MBP has a better display, can handle more tasks, doesn't weight that much more and is more future proof for me. Yes, when adding the extra RAM and SSD on the 15" Air, the 14" macbook pro is better choice with M2 Pro, better screen @ that price point. But, for most folks and usage, the base config with larger screen 15" Macbook Air, it's slim design and price is hard to beat.

I decided to go with the pro. The 14 inches is a nice middle point in size regardless of the fact they have very similar weight. The display on the pro is incredible.

I was on the fence til I actually went to the Apple Store and compared them side by side. 15in was the clear winner for me, felt so comfortable to hold and I like to have my laptop on my lap sometimes which was way nicer with the 15in. I also noticed having that extra screen size made more of a difference than pixel density which for me personally I could not tell the difference and I really tried hahah. I’m never going to be moving 500 photo files lol, I don’t even know what half those programs are anyway. If you do this professionally (ie your full time job is photos or videos etc) get the pro of course, but for everyone else the air has such a cool design, fun to hold and move, great size screen, and more than enough performance for non professionals. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s a more aesthetically attractive laptop because after all we do have to look at it every day. It’s one of those products where I smile just admiring the sleekness and design. Anyway, go to an Apple Store if you can and actually interact with them physically before choosing based on just numbers. This is a product most of us will need to be holding and moving daily, so give it a test drive! ;)

I had first purchased a M2 MacBook Air in January. With the lack of active cooling it gets very hot. It is forced to down clock. I returned it in favor of my MacBook M1 Pro. I still use a pad to lift it because it also gets pretty warm. But it doesn’t seem to bog down.

16 inch M2 Pro or 15 inch M2 MBA? I initially placed my order for a 15 inch MacBook Air with 16Ram and 1TB SSD, and then realized up for a little more. I can get either the 14 or the 16 Pro. Now I’m not really a pro user, max I’ll do is edit home movies, but the display is what’s driving me to maybe splurge and get the pro motion 120hz pro MacBook. Plus I’ll keep it for years to come. What would you suggest?

This is a comparison I surely needed. It is really hard to just make a decision in buying an item above $1000. and so spending such crazy amounts of money, such videos help in gauging the real differences.

MBP 14-inch M2 all the way, especially if it’s only $50 more than the 15-inch MBA. More ports, connections, better screen, has fans built-in, plus can handle 3 vs 1 external display.

Having a fan on the pro is a no-go for me. I don't like fan noise and have been spoiled by not having to worry about ventilation with the MBA. The slight performance hit from thermals isn't enough for me to care about.
