Of all the rock rebels to emerge in the 1950s, few captured the new genre's attraction and danger as unforgettably as Louisiana-born piano player Jerry Lee Lewis.

One of the matches that lit the rock n fire that still burns today...His flame has gone out.. but his music lives on, , testimony to the talent, and the many fans that remain grateful for his contribution.

In cricket parlance 87 is known as the devil’s number : 13 short of the century. John Lennon once called Whole Lotta Shaking the greatest rock n roll song of all. RIP Jerry.

Rock legend huh, didn't he marry his 14-year-old second cousin when he was 25, think they have a word for that!!!

"THE KILLER IS DEAD !!!!" I was front-row-center at the Boston Arena MAY 3 1958.
On the stage was the 'one-and-only' JERRY LEE LEWIS.
This was the scene of the famous BOSTON RIOT that ruined Alan Freed's career.
My memory goes like this;

The ARENA HOUSE-CREW TURNED ON THE HOUSE LIGHTS DURING
JERRY'S WILD PERFORMANCE.

When ALAN back-introduced JERRY,
and in reference to the VERY BIGHT Arena Hall,
ALAN said: "Well, I guess they don't want you kids to enjoy yourselves".

The fight/scuffle that happened outside was dubbed the BOSTON RIOT.
That was the start of the ending of Alan's career....
and the BEGINNING of my radio career.

We all pass....but the LEGEND known as the KILLER, WILL LIVE FOREVER !!!!

MAYBE LONGER THAN THAT.
