Kinds of Proportion Part 2 Indirect or Inverse Proportion

This is a video lesson about solving the different kinds of proportion.

Kinds of Proportion
1. Direct Proportion
When one quantity increases or decreases the other quantity increase or decreases also.

2. Indirect/Inverse Proportion
When quantity increases or decreases the other quantity will have an opposite change.

3. Partitive Proportion
A number is divided into parts proportional to the ratio of the other numbers.

To find the missing term in a proportion:
1. Identify the means and extremes.

2. Multiply the terms of the proportion that are partners. These are the means and the extremes.

3. Divide the partners whose product is known by the given number in the partners whose product is unknown.
