A robust ammunition's box (ammo box) - is a great storage unit for various applications. In this video I'llused it as a case to build a powerful lithium-ion battery pack. The Only Battery Box You Need!

The layout of those BMS sensing/monitoring wires is so satisfying.

Insulating tape is fine, but I suggest covering the middle of each bus bar with heat-shrink tubing or tape before installation to reduce exposed metal during construction and handling.

Could you please add the URL and the details for the cells that you use for this build. The materials list includes everything EXCEPT the cells which are the heart of the build.

These cells are 5C peak, 3C continuous. That means 60A continuous discharge in 1P configuration.
Title states 200A, and it has no cooling.

Love the straight to the point, clear instructions, and details about products used. Keep up the good work!

Happy I saw this video. I’m making a 72v 25Ah 200a battery right now in an ammo can. Making a video on it too. Can’t wait to finish and upload my video

What a coincidence! I`m working right now on my video on making a 1000W power supply using the same ammo box. Cheers!

Nice build! Have you considered what would happen in a failure mode where cells begin to vent and pressure builds up inside the ammo box?

A verry professional diy build. One suggestion from my side, use a suitable dc fuse between your battery pack and the bms. You would have an extra layer of safety if something on the electronicside shortens. But overall good build!

This is brilliant!. For sure subbed here. And yes, as others have asked... a link for the cells and possibly the ammo box please.

I would love to see some insulation around the busbars, other than that, its perfect for its application!

I like your build. It is very clean.

Have you posted the STL files for the build? If so where is it available? I would love not to have to reinvent the wheel for my build. Or, if you would release the CAD files that would be even better. That way we could easily make changes to suit our needs.

just don't store it in the garage and never in a room, that ammo box won't hold back a battery fire, it will build up pressure in no time and spew flames through every gap

I would put spacers between those bars, even if they're secure and can't move, heat shrink, hot glue, anything. You don't want something else getting in there

Also check out a company called Westart, they sell the NMC style pouch batteries similar to the EIG used in this vid. I believe their style is 3.5 V 35 Ah. The only downside is these style of batteries don’t last very long
