Just think about it, the Google Nexus 7 in 2012 had face unlocking, which was 5 years before Apple released its first smartphone with Face ID

Samsung Pay works with cards without a chip, the phone emulates a magnetic strip. So it has aged well

Upon research Apple had this first the. Samsung came out with it a year later. Only difference is that Samsung is showing that it’s working with every card reader, even the ones that don’t accept tap-to-pay. With that being said it’s not exactly safe as encrypted tap-to-pay

It’s because Apple used to use metal backing for the iPhone so they could not do anything like payments or wireless charging. They fixed that when they added glass backing for the next iPhone

Most people do not understand what’s happening here.
Apple Pay works with NFC.

But back then many stores only accepted “swiping” cards, which works with magnetism.
So Samsung added a magnetic pay system.
Apple didn’t want this. It’s inferior and not safe.

Sadly they moved from MST to NFC (Near Field Communication) ever since 2021😢. But at least it still works

Samsung pay is just a badly re skinned version of Google pay.

But yeah Google pay work with any POS that accepts contactless card, it also works with apple pay terminals. It just works.

Apple pay requires thet the pos or terminal is apple pay equipped and certified.

How did it not age well? MST emulated the magnetic stripe so it worked on terminals that didn’t even take tap. Magstripe itself is being discontinued soon, not just Samsung pay
