Silverfuse you're my favorite lor content creator. You're smart and also got a great personality.

I tried LoR when it came out and I did really enjoy it, and I put money into the cosmetics because Riot does have great cosmetics. But does feel punishing taking breaks from the game, I took a break after the Seraphine Ezreal meta and when I tried to get back none of my decks were really viable, the newer cards were just better to play and had better synergies that I could not be able to happily play and it was a struggle to get cards because you play to get resources for cards but since I took a break I didn't have the resources for the cards or the cards to enjoy the game to get the resources for the future. So then I took a second break and came back to rotations, which kind of fixed it but also didn't. I didn't have a lot of good cards to make a deck in the limited format but if I went into the unrestricted format I really stood no chance against most of the decks I faced. And I know there are still some streamers that play and stream LoR, Mogwai and Grapplr to name a couple. But to me it was a struggle to get cards if you didn't have the resources or the cards to enjoy the games and not lose repeatedly. I love your videos and the content you do and the LoR videos you have posted. But it is unfortunate to see LoR take a slight fall, it did start off as a good game in my opinion.

man... Im just crying inside I cant stop. Can I ask... if you can make a video in the future of a more hopeful spin? Negativity is everywhere and I think someone has to give their take of how to save the game instead of just saying its dying...

I am a casual card gamer, english is not my native language and all thats said in this video is quite on the opposite on what makes someone like me to engage in a game for as long as possible.

The model of a game does not matter, sure companies need to make back their money because it's obviously an online. As a f2p player most of time, having access to 100% of a game's content feels very wrong. My point is, the barrier of entry shouldn't be high for a casual player and also a competitive player.
I have played a variety of card games but right now, my go to everyday card games are hearthstone and marvel snap. I dont own up to 50% of cards in hearthstone and i do enjoy playing the game for 8 years+ and this is due to the fact that the game is appealing to me as a casual player.
Marvel snap got released a year plus and i have probably 80% of the cards in the game which i find so much better than hearthstone but yet all that doesn't matter as long as i enjoy the game regardless.

When a model actually matters is when a game is purely p2w meaning people who put money into the game have significant advantage but thats not the case for card game genres.

One of the points people dont seem to discuss about is how less appealing lor is to the casual audience. It just doesn't fall in the line for casual players but it does for competitive. Games being developed have to put casual players into consideration because thats what makes the majority of playerbase. Games are meant to be fun and not brain racking.

Monetization for cosmetics in lor is probably the worst i have seen in any game i have played because they feel so bad to pay for less value . I have spent about $100 in hearthstone and snap iirc and they were simply on cosmetics and probably a few battlepasses just for exclusive cosmetics. I have also spent on lor for cosmetics and they felt really bad because i thought its what would get me to play more but nope i just couldn't enjoy it.

People make the notion that sunk cost fallacy is one the reasons players cant leave a game for another which i do think is false in my own case. Assuming both hs and snap were to die now, all my thoughts would be 'what is next in line to give me what these two games gave ?'. There arent any alternatives for me, lor isnt as much fun as the other two for me who is a casual player but i did like some aspects of the game but never the core gameplay.

Playing a card, striking Nexus, spells, units, champs, interactions, accessories within boards, there's so many esthetics within the game already that could have been monetized and yet they didn't. They say they did their best but that's a straight up lie, and having the best PvP card game on the market and you decide to split resources into PvE? So many wrong decisions lead to this and it's their fault and deserved, though this is one of my favorite games out there and it's sad that it ends like this and I would like it to revive and recover, but ever since irelia's release the amount of mistakes is such that is hard to recover, specially if you plan to continue with this flow and not go back to your roots in terms of gameplay

I tried to play and learn this game since beta since i play league pc. I just can't learn enough. I know basics until i face people doing combos and spells sequences 😅

As you said, maybe if they made a mediocre game but with better advertisement and monetization it would have more success. And that just sucks... Like, they made this game that respects you as a player and doesn't prey on your lizard brain with hooks, fomo or gacha mechanics. And that was its downfall. Maybe we don't deserve games like Runeterra.

As long as you don't touch TFT we'll be fine, Riot. I stopped playing LoR last year and have no regrets.
