The power cut story is brutal. Also exactly why I have a decent battery backup on my modem and router. It can run it for about 8hrs. It’s come in handy A LOT. One of the best Black Friday purchases I ever made a few years ago.

Doing I.T. support had this happen. Guy is furious his computer isn't working. I'm troubleshooting and the thing isn't turning on no matter what I try over the phone. Then he goes well the whole building's power is down. After I take a very slow deep breathe I kindly ask him to callback once the power is back on since that is the issue - not his computer.

The longest my power out was 13 days, a few years ago...
That's why I have a back up generator on my patio...
I had TV, wifi, tablet, a lamp in my living room, refrigerator, and my central heating...
Even gave a couple of extension cords to a neighbor...

Try plugging it into different wall outlet. I have one. One day on a construction site my saw quit. The owner's wife said I found the problem... there was a knot in the extension cord. The owner may not wanna propagate with that woman.

When I was a teen I would used my hotspot and a battery pack when the power went out. That way I could finish my home work on the computer.

Pro tip: Buy a cheap UPS for your internet stuff. I have a thicc ass power outlet that has UPS battery in em that could power the router and wifi for a few hours. Works out great.

When I was younger I thought that if I could somehow connect the router to an emergency battery I could have internet even when the power is out. I couldn't comprehend why I had the wifi signal but no internet. I didn't even consider relays in the area need power to transmit the signal too.

You can create PC network with adapters through power lines actually. I used it for some time. It's not as quick as proper cables but it works. :)
