I agree with everything this pastor said about, not being able to judge the eternal state of Tim Keller. But, we can and as this pastor has done, expose the MANY false teachings of Tim Keller. And especially on the most important doctrine, the most essential, salvation Itself. Tim Keller was a compromiser with the culture and let's be honest, he deceived people with his social justice messages, willfully or not he deceived many from the truth. But In the end only God knows If Tim Keller trusted In the true saving gospel of Jesus Christ, or put his faith in a pseudo savior called social justice.

Thank you for posting this Tim. I love how this man systematically presented the belief system of Keller.

This was truly a balanced approach to reviewing Keller's beliefs and teachings. So well done. My church just quoted Keller in the bulletin. It was a good quote however I knew this man's position on the gospel. I think there is a great deal of compromise going on in many churches. I believe we need to mark and avoid them. Also expose them in a Biblical way. Thank you for this!

Thank you brother for your boldness to share this. This is a well needed critique since so many are deceived by Tim Keller.

In regards to his pseudo support of the BLM riots saying that riots are born of people not being heard … I am curious if he echoed the same thoughts around the people involved in January 6th?

We have criticized Ravi Zacharias, and now Tim Kellor. Would we stand up to such scrutiny? Lord help us to be faithful to your word.

I can truthfully say that I have never read any of Mr. Keller's works, or heard any of his teachings, to my knowledge. There may have been a teacher who followed Mr. Keller's theology, but after listening to this podcast I know I would have tuned whomever out and moved on. I always rely on the leading of the Holy Spirit to guide me on my journey to get closer to God and Christ, so perhaps the news of his passing eluded me because he wasn't significant to me. I pray that he had a divine revelation prior to his passing and that he repented. I can't pass judgement on anyone. My job is to follow Jesus Christ; not try to replace Him.

Love the pastor you put on here. Genesis 1 is so important! Spurgeon and others didn’t have to “adjust” the church, that’s why they lived in a more moral society and why we’re living in the Romans 1 society. 💔😢

Thank you for posting this . The majority of Pastors wouldn’t have had the courage .
He has always worried me, mainly because his influence seeped into the Reformed churches and it was very difficult to get people to
re-evaluate their views on him. Always unsettling to hear so many Preachers quoting him.
My personal view is that Keller has done enormous damage with his cowardly compromise and his blurring of the truth of the gospel.

Excellent critique of Tim Keller. I've wondered about him myself and it was very helpful and I think accurate.

Jeff Kliewer says Timothy Keller’s definition of sin was deficient, because he says Keller said “No one ever learned he was a sinner by being told that they are.”
If Keller had stopped there I would agree with Kliewer, but If you listen to the sermon video in which Keller uses this phrase you will find that Keller is actually quoting from a sermon by John Newton (of Amazing Grace fame), in which Newton says; “No one ever learned they were a sinner by being told, they have to be shown.” Keller uses this full quote including the words “THEY HAVE TO BE SHOWN.”
Why does Kliewer leave out the last part of the quote? Half truths are deceptive.
Looking at the context of this quote by Keller; it comes from the first of two 30 minute sermons called ‘HOW TO BE CHANGED BY THE GOSPEL 1, & 2’, which largely deals with the question of sin. In the first video, Keller speaking from Romans 7 says; “The Apostle Paul says, you are far more evil, you are far more wicked than you want to believe.”
In the second video on Romans 8, Keller says; “People will tell you it is emotionally unhealthy to call yourself evil sinners – it is not ….You are evil.” Why does Jeff Kliewer not use this quote from Keller?
In fact the two sermons by Keller give a deeper understanding of what sin is and the need for all to come to Christ in repentance, depending totally on Him for cleansing and power to change and live for Him.

If Jeff Kliewer seams happy to mis-quote and take out of context what Keller says, has he done the same with the other points in his statement?

Never followed Tim Keller myself but this is surely eye opening how easy a person can be sucked into ones belief system good work

I’ve listened to hundreds of TK sermons, many of them multiple times. He believed in the inerrancy of the Bible. If you had presented your arguments to him while he was alive I think he would’ve listened to you thoughtfully, and if your understanding of any scripture made more sense than his, he would change his mind. The Bible was his ultimate authority. He didn’t correct it, he let it correct him.

I was part of a Baptist Church where Keller was an influence. The moment I disagreed with something he said, I was asked why was I going against a pillar of the church? To some if you disagree with Keller, you are "touching the Lord's Anointed."

I agree with the speaker that Christians who suffer from same-sex attraction should be looking to God to free them from this.
It is a mistake for someone just to assume that a person in this category will have to be that way for their whole life.
