How To Travel Journal - Point Reyes

In this video you'll see the process of how I create a travel journal! We recently took a weekend trip to the Point Reyes area here in Northern California and I decided to make a travel journal for this getaway.
I made this insert from white printer paper and a piece of kraft scrapbook paper. All the supplies I used will be listed below for you to check out!
Things I love to include in my travel journals are: lots of photos, maps, receipts, brochures, newspaper clippings, washi tape and more! Almost anything you collect along your trip can be incorporated into a travel journal, so save it all! This travel journal was made AFTER my trip, because I would not have had the time to make it look this good while traveling. This was a short trip so I didn't have trouble keeping track of where we went and what we did. For longer trips, you could consider keeping a written journal to help document events and then using that to help you create a more visual travel journal later!

Very nice! My journals in the past have been very basic. I plan to do them differently in the future--more photos and brochures. Regarding receipts--I saw another video recently where someone looked through an old travel journal, and the printing on the receipts had faded. I don't think the chemicals they're made with are meant to last long-term.

Hello! I just came across your channel through Amy Tangerine :) I can't wait to watch your other videos! I recently tried a travelers notebook for a travel journal and I've done a spiral notebook. I definitely liked the travelers notebook style last time because I can bulk it up with all the brochures, etc without warping the shape of the notebook a lot. I'm terrible about writing in my journals, but I started leaving myself post-its to help jog my memory later and to remind myself of what photos I want to include when I have a chance to print them (which is almost never, whoops!) xoxo

I keep one writing journal where I insert receipts, maps and stuff. Then I have a separate photo album for the trip. Maybe I will journal like you do, so that I have everything in one place.
