Black Sabbath - Symptom Of The Universe Guitar Lesson

Black Sabbath "Symptom of the Universe" guitar lesson. The next Riff of the Day uses the Diamond Marquis treble booster and the Lovepedal Hi Volt distortion to recreate Tony Iommi's legendary metal tone. If you've ever played Symptom of the Universe in standard tuning, you might find it lacking in depth, that could be because it was originally recorded with C# standard tuning. The lower tuning helps the higher power chords using the D&G strings sound fuller and gives the overall timbre of your guitar a darker sound. The middle portion with the fast run uses a down/up/down/up pattern in the Locrian mode. Enjoy your Riff of the Day guitar lesson!

I like your style of teaching, not a lot of talking, just showing the riffs in an intuitive way - well done - keep em coming the kids need to see this

I also love that they're using the concert tones, not the relative notes. Making us brush up on some music theory.

Sister Rosetta Tharpe was one of the earliest SG players (white 3 pickup custom) and used it extensively in Gospel.

It's nice to see a video featuring the Diamond Marquis. Shall we see more of it in the future?

Hey, ...can you do the Speak of the Devil versions of these Black Sabbath songs.
Someone (Randy Rhoads??) did some rewrites on many of those classic Black Sabbath riffs which are phenomenal. Randy Rhoads is rumored to be the person who blew up those Black Sabbath riffs. "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" is a great example of the great rewrites, ...especially the part where Ozzy goes into "Nobody will ever let you know".

Back to "Symptom of the Universe", ...the Speak of the Devil version has some additional legottos added to the single note riff part that is mind blowing.

The Black Sabbath versions are phenomenal in their own right. Both versions are classic moments in music and cultural history!!!

Would love to see someone break down the Speak of the Devil versions of these classic Black Sabbath songs!!!
